Bali Nine trial starting soon in Denpasar Bali

There is no let up with the excitement in Bali. Seems like just the other day I reading about the Wismilak tennis tournament in Nusa Dua and looking at photos of Lindsey Davenport, the eventual winner, taking a Balinese cooking class. LD has since expressed shock at the bombing and said her hotel, The Four Seasons Jimbaran was only 200 ft away. She used to walk past those warungs every morning.

This coming week we have the Ubud Writer's Festival and the start of the Bali nine drugs trial. A Sydney Morning Herald article says relatives of the 9 accused drug traffickers are starting to arrive in Bali for the Tuesday courtroom drama, defying travel warnings on Bali. Apparently one of the father of the accused, Lee Rush ( father of Scott) informed the AFP (Australian Federal Police) that his son was heading to Bali to commit drug crimes. This seems amazing but I think Mr. Rush was trying to do the right thing and obviously his son was involved in other such activities. Mr Rush is angry his on was not arrested in Australia.

With no let up in the event schedule we have the anniversary of Bali Bomb I on October 12th in Kuta. Personally I was hoping to catch some of the Writers Festival, but with an immunization scheduled for Jevon on Monday and a meeting with the Bali Recovery Center people on Wednesday, I will be pushed to stay for long. The good thing is that with a news site I have plenty of content.
