Bali Nine kingpins get death in Denpasar Bali

Bali Nine kingpins, Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran, were both given the death sentence today at Denpasar District Court. In separate trials the courts ruled that their part in the heroin trafficking plan was enough to warrant the maximum sentence.

In conclusion Sukumaran’s court said Sukuamaran had been proven “to have ordered or organized the export of first class narcotics from Bali.” In Chan’s trial the court concluded by saying he “tainted Bali’s name as a resort island”.

Both men will appeal.

To all these blood lusting readers urging executions in Bali: I wonder if you’d be so keen if a white Australian woman was getting the bullet instead of just a couple of sub-human asian-looking sacrifices? Wake up and stand up for your fellow man cretins - you could be next if you travel in Asia and no one will feel sorry for you,let alone your gutless prime minister!

Yes we have a gutless pm no arguement there but executions and jail sentences don’t just happen if you don’t break the laws. Every person, black, white or asian who travells in Asia knows the sentence that awaits them for drug trafficking. They even have bloody great posters telling you you will die for drug trafficking. Who cares what colour they are..they are drug traffickers. Pitty the white ‘woman’ didn’t get death too but she will rot in their jail for the rest of her miserable life. I for one won’t be losing any sleep over any of them. Better they are to die or be jailed for life than some innocent person affected by the drugs they were trying to bring back to Australia. And yes believe it or not drugs do touch the lives of innocent people in so many ways. And if you need that spelt out to you perhaps there are more cretins involved than just 9…

First of all, I should mention that I am from the U.S. and am thus unfamiliar with the Australian Prime Minister so I will refrain from commenting on him. However, it seems unreasonable to expect him to defend the actions of notorious drug traffickers, regardless of their Australian residency. After all, it is difficult to feel sympathetic towards anybody who commits a drug-related offense in a Third World country, especially since said countries are known to treat such offenses very seriously. Sure, looking at the situation through an American lens makes me feel that a death sentence is a harsh penalty. However, I respect the fact that foreign lands may uphold a justice system very different to the one I am accustomed to, so it is not my place to criticize. I too will not lose any sleep over these criminals though, as they were all rational people, blinded by their greed, who knew exactly what they were doing. Sure, I would probably think differently if I were in the shoes of the convicted but I would not be so reckless as to commit those crimes in the first place. I work hard to earn money legitmately so why should I or anybody else for that matter, feel bad for people who are making millions through illegal behavior. Truth be told, I would prefer a death sentence than to live out the rest of my existence in a filthy Indonesian prison anyways, so in a sense, Chan and that other oaf are fortunate. I do feel some sympathy towards the family members though as they may have been unaware of their children’s actions and I am sure it is tough to see a family member subjected to such heinous conditions. Where I do disagree with Sebastian is on the point that drug users are innocent victims. Yes drugs can take lives and cause much misery but the simple solution is: Don’t take drugs in the first place. Unless somebody slipped heroin or any other harmful drug in an unknowing person’s food or held a gun to their head and forced ingestion of said drugs, then there is no reason to feel sorry for drug use victims. They make the decision to take drugs so they must live with the consequences. I can’t understand that liberal point of view whereby people feel sorry for those that must suffer consequences of which that they brought upon themselves. I have actually spent a brief period of time in jail as a result of a marijuana-related offense but I accepted my consequences because I knew what I was doing was uninitelligent. That is life, you must sleep in the bed you make, so to speak. In any case, Bali, from the pictures i have seen, does appear to have pleasant beaches. Peace

I agree bigboy. But I wasn’t referring to the junkies as innocent people but reading back can see how that may have been misinterprited. I was thinking more of the families of junkies and of victims of crime..junkies need to get the money for their fixes from somewhere and since they are mostly (and in the end) off their trees when they are on drugs I don’t think they hold down especially well paying jobs. So they steal, and hurt innocent people to get what they want. And yes sometimes they even kill them. I’m just saying better the traffickers die than enyone else affected by their actions.

Oh my fault, after re-reading your previous post I see that you did not explicitly say that the “junkies” are innocent victims. I agree with you though, drug addicts do have the capacity to hurt others in their hunt to acquire narcotics. On a different note, what would you say is the best city to visit in Australia? I Have always wanted to make a trip down there even though the plane ride is about 16 hours. Later dude.
