Members of the Bali Nine will get the assistance of the Australian government in the last fews days of their trial. The Sydney Morning Herald reports a large legal team will be on hand to help each of th Nine through the likely process of going from accused to convicted.
The court date is set for Feb 14th and there will likely be a huge media presence at the Denpasar District Court. I talked to one Australian journo today who said there was a whisper that the verdict might be delayed, but he was thinking that was unlikely.
According to the SMH the legal team would “monitor the transparency of the legal process and provide consular assistance to the Bali nine and their family members”. I think the process is already pretty transparent. We all know how it works, right?

Yes we do…but what’s a few of our taxpayers dollars when your talking about drug smugglers getting their just rewards. I say go for it, give them all the assistance they want…and then bill it to the bright spark who came up with the idea in the first place…they might not get as much help if that were the case. You go little johnny…
