Bali Nine ringleaders Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran have been convicted of trafficking drug and sentenced to death. I think its true to say there is no ambiguity in how the court feels about them. It was my understanding that Indonesia has a lengthy appeals process. In the US prisoners have been on death row for a decade. ABC Australia did an interview with a law professor who is an expert on these cases.
Professor Tim Lindsay is the Director of the Asian Law Center at the University of Melbourne, and says the guilty men should waste no time in appealing their sentence. He says a Presidential pardon is not likely and that Australia will not move to ship them both home until all avenues have been explored first.
He reckons that an early execution is possible, by which he meant 2-3 months. That really would be a shocker. I say at least give the Australian government the chance to work out a prisoner transfer. Of course there is one other way out. If Donald Trump is reading this and is feeling generous, now is the time to help out.

The quicker these low lifes get shot the better, maybe Bali could make it into a celebration and bring the bombers back and do it all in 1 hit. Save a lot of money on bullets that way. Australia do not want or need them. John Howard has said today that it is not up to Australia to ask other countries to change their rulings - I agree, if Aussies commit crimes in any country they are bound by that country’s rules.
I find it curious that some people apparently approve of the deliberate killing of another human being.
They surely must execute Amrozi,Sumudra first..?
How wrong is their justice system..ridiculous !!
Hey Stavros, I am assuming that you slept throughout most of your education and missed the lesson on making an argument. The key to making a coherent argument, instead of senseless drivel, is to first announce your point, then provide some evidence behind the point and lastly reiterate your point. I am not sure you even have a point as your comment is similar to a cluster of letters that may inadvertently form sentences in a bowl full of alpha-bits. I will be generous and cease to mention your childlike punctuation. Sure I know this is simply a casual forum but why sound like an animal? I am sure you have time to proofread when you get home from your job of mixing cement, am I right?
What are you trying to say bigboy??? People who choose to work in construction aren’t well educated? You sound as though you have had an education and I would have thought that being in the lucky position to be able put your point across in an articulate and coherent manner you wouldn’t feel the need to judge someone by the job they choose to do or for any reason at all for that matter…or have you got some kind of inferiority complex??? I have a university degree and I chose to “mix cement” as you put it so well. I’m sure you’re a nice enough person, and I’m sure you’re intelligent enough to realise that judging someone for the job they do or for whatever reason isn’t too intelligent. Have a great day!
Hello Pat, first of all I fail to see how judging another person should be deemed an unintelligent action. Sure maybe it is unkind or even impolite, but not so much unintelligent. Secondly, I did not cast judgment upon Stavros based on his employment but upon his inability to formulate a coherent thought. His incoherence then led me to speculate that his source of income is probably centered around mixing cement, as such employment does not require a high level of literacy. Are you now able to see the causal relationship that is present in my post, or should I, from now on, stick to one and two syllable words?
In addition, I noticed that you claimed to have a University Degree, which I find puzzling. Why would somebody seek out a job that requires the wearing of a hard hat after completing four years of schooling? Correct me if I’m wrong but even a moderately intelligent chimpanzee could function as a construction worker, so why attend an insitution of higher learning? If you attended college simply to meet girls than I can almost respect that as college is nothing more than a drunken orgy anyway with the occasional homework assignment. Still though, you do not need studentship to meet carefree college girls so I still wonder why you would enroll, graduate and then become a cement mixer? Why not use your alleged degree to find a more financially sound source of employment?
I am a reasonable dude though so I will give you the benefit of the doubt and suggest that you are in your early 20’s, like myself, and are having trouble finding a job in today’s horrid market. If that is the case, then I can understand why you would choose to mix cement and earn some kind of money, while simultaneously getting some exercise until something better comes your way. However, if you are middle aged then I stand by my inital viewpoint and consider you to be borderline mentally retarded. You have a great day son.
Big Boy did you have a point to make or are you simply trolling?
Back to the subject: I fell that Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran deserve the death penalty for a number of reasons. First, they committed a heinous crime. Next, while it’s not a capital offense in most countries, it IS punishable by death in Bali, and that’s where they chose to commit their crime.
In addition, Bali has implemented the death penalty for drug smuggling in an attempt to reverse their reputation as a haven for drug users. Who could blame them? It’s not the doped-out users that concerns them; it’s the cold-hearted dealers who care so little for the quality of human life that violence follows them like flies on a turd.
Finally, anyone who smuggles such a large quantity of drugs is pure trash. They are preying on the weakness of others in order to acheive personal gain. Drug addiction is a sickness, and dealers take advantage of the users’ sickness… and that is downright disgusting.
I hope Chan and Sukumaran are indeed executed within a few months.

Do you have a point Tim? Or I should say, do you have a point that is not tangled up in unintelligible nonsense?
“First, they committed a heinous crime. “-Tim
Outside of over the hill Prosecutors presenting a case to a panel of jurors, I would like to know who else would use such language. Are you at all familiar with the meaning of the term “heinous?” Said term is synonymous with hateful or evil and I fail to see how it has any applicability in describing the actions of Chan and Sukumaran. Trafficking drugs, or should I say attempting to traffick drugs, is not an evil or hateful act and therefore should not be considered heinous. Sure it is illegal, immoral, irresponsible and even borderline insane but not heinous so please consult a dictionary prior to any of your further posting.
Being that you are from California, I am under the impression that you tend to perceive life through a liberal lens. No need to take offense to this as upon my visit to Cali, I found that the majority of the residents were aspiring actors/yoga students/vegetarians/hippies or in other words, liberals. Therefore, you probably feel that the idea of selling drugs to those that are addicted is in fact evil or heinous, as you claim that “drug addiction is a sickness, and dealers take advantage of the users’ sickness.” I, however, find your classification of drug addiction as a sickness to be highly amusing and of course inaccurate. Cancer is an example of a sickness since it is generally resultant from genetic/biological predisposition, whereas drug addiction stems from the free will of the user. Yes once the chemical dependence sets in then the free will of the user is shadowed by the addictive properties of the drugs. The bottom line is though, if an individual chooses to experiment with drugs then they need to accept responsiblity for all of the relevant consequences, i.e. addiction. Thus, even though drug dealers push addictive substances, nobody is forced to become their customers. Ergo, there is no reason to feel sympathy for any drug users. I personally think that users are utter lowlifes as they tend to pollute the streets and beg hard working people, like myself, for spare change.
Don’t misinterpet my thoughts though because I feel that Sukumaran and Chan, being drug dealers are also undeserving of any sympathetic gestures. But, if there were not so many drug addicts in the world, then degenerates like Chan and Sukumaran would not be able to thrive.

You have quite a way with words, a true asset to the English language you are.

All you have done thus far Big boy is put other people down. You have been shallow in your view of other people also. You may be intelligent, but you are not wise. Good night.

That may seem to be the case to an untrained reader; however I have articulated some clever points with coherency and the “put downs” were just an added bonus for my own amusement. I am doing thse people a favor by informing them of their stupidity so that they can refrain from sharing their thoughts in the future.
No Donald No!!!!!!!! And we don’t need them here on some prisoner exchange. If there is one good thing to come out of this…We have offloaded 9 parasites…good riddence
