Bali kicks ass in latest travel poll

Travel & Leisure magazine's 2005 poll ranks Bali as the World's Best Island. I knew that to start with, where else can you find the best surfing in the world, the most unique and interesting culture in the world, great hotels, volcanoes, beaches, friendly people, tremendous art scene, nightlife all for an affordable price?

Travel & Leisure is a magazine published in the US and appeals largely to the kind of tourist who travels for short periods, but who wants luxury everything. Its almost like showing off the brochure in the office is as important as the vacation itself. Travel & Leisure also awards the title of World's Best Hotel to the Four Seasons Sayan (near Ubud) and the World's Best Resort to the Four Seasons Jimbaran Bay. Not a bad recommendation from a top magazine that has seen it all as far as luxury. Of course for us other folks who don't get to stay at the top hotels there is still an awesome choice of budget places and guesthouses.
