The Bali Arts Festival in June / July will feature 15 groups from overseas. The annual event, which takes places in Denpasar is extremely popular with local people. It celebrates the performing arts as well as the styles of the different parts of Bali. For example a couple of years ago I saw a kris (ceremonial knife) display with clothing, representing each district.
If you attend the Bali Arts Festival advance booking is not required, simply show up, park and go in. The dances are scheduled for mornings and evenings with not much in the afternoon. This years Bali Arts Festival will be from June 17th - July 15th. Among the foreign countries sending groups are Japan, S.Korea, USA, Germany, Canada, UK, India, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia.
