Chris and I are here at GlobalXtreme internet cafe in Kerobokan after returning from an overnight bike trip to east Bali.
Our little trip around the Bukit peninsula the other day came in handy as we has to deal with some traffic and plenty of hills and bends. The riding though in the country areas and out on the east coast is low stress and low pollution which I like.
Will make sure we post a ton of photos tomorrow after we’ve had a chance to select the best ones.
Got my daily call from Barrie and met him at Internet Outpost on Poppies II. Chandika had been to Sanur with Mellie, one of the staff. Barrie calls them Thelma and Louise.
Back in Kuta many of the internet cafes and restaurants are closed today because of Galungan. Many staff have to go back to their villages for the celebration, which shows you what takes precedence over here, business vs. culture.
Chris and I ate a pineapple pizza ( him ) and a cap cap at a place called Nice on the little street that leads from Poppies II to Poppies I. They were showing Matrix Reloaded and we got to see the last 40 minutes. It was funny because the pirated DVD had errors which came out as colored blobs on the screen and would make the movie stop and start…..an anomally in the matrix.
One funny thing happened as we were riding along Poppies II. An attractive lady on a bike said ‘hi Nick’ and rode past…..I haven’t the faintest idea who it was.

“Hi Nick”. . . . well, i’m not an attractive lady, but have to agree with Sean that in Bali, you are ‘the one’. Flying in Sat. nite all the way from Hawaii. Will call you once settled and after a sleep.
Guys, I’m still trying to figure out which one I am, sometimes I think its the dumb one. Anyway James I look forward to meeting you, Chris will be here to.
Hi Chris,
Ah Ha! I’ve tracked you down in Bali! Hope you’re having a wonderful time. Post losts of pictures of yourself and Nick. What’s happened to my 30th and final Dorset story?
Cheers,
Joanne
Nick,
Hate to shatter your ego……But how do you know it was a lady?
It could have been a benchong????
hee hee hee hee
Thanks Tracey,
Here in Asia it could quite easily be a Benchong, but how did she/he know my name. I’m thinkning it could a be a waitress from somewhere I’ve eaten at.
A week go Josh and I saw a couple of benchogs out on Dhyana Pura, freaky looking.
Gah! Busted, Joanne. Here I was hoping to slink off into the wilds of Asia. Soon, soon. I promise!

Nick - in Bali, you are “the one” - as in Matric Reloaded. Be prepared for more “hellos” from random folks because, Nick is “the one”
