August 18th 2004 in Kuta Bali
This morning in Seminyak we had a short power outage which meant the people at Cafe Moka had to calculate using paper and a hand held calculator by candle light.
We get these once in a while and Bali does have a growing power problem. We get our power from Java via an undersea cable. There were plans to build a power station on the north coast which I am not looking forward to.
Last night celebrations in Seminyk went on for quite a while with the thumping music and loud person on the mic going on till after 2am. I felt like they were in my garden. Here’s a photo I took of the Balinese dancers wrapped in their tight, ‘movement inhibiting’ sarongs.
I bumped into Stacia form the US outside Cirlce K on Jl. Dhyana Pura. She was the lady I met at Rumours restaurant on Jl. Oberoi with Miranda and while ago. Stacia was with a dozen people from her hotel including 2 guys from Canada who were mixing liter jugs right there on the porch. I had a sip of their concoction which included vodka, Krakendang and orange juice. It tasted like medicine and I was glad to be on water.
Peter Knox the fellow who’s place we had the bbq party a couple of weeks ago sent me a few photos of the party. In all we had 27 people show a face and gathering round the pool was a good chance to meet people, new and old.
I had a funny moment today when I visited a very nice hotel that offers ‘Satellite TV’. The manager told me there was one hitch, they can only handle one channel at a time and all the rooms have to have that channel. The other day a couple were halfway through a movie when the channel got changed for sports. Not a happy scene, but funny to think about.
I have a new map to help those thinking of visiting north Bali.

Nick looked like a nice Barb at Opputunity KNox’s place…..good turnout to by all accounts…with quite a few fillies from what i can see as well….hope you got there numbers for future Barbies at your gaff Nick…heee hee !Wish i was there mate, but i suppose i will get to frequent one of your Barbies Nick…and by that time you will be a dab hand at the procedure and have the drill off to a tee mate eh ?
Bye the way Nick, i dont know what the other bloggers (sounds like buggers eh hee hee ) think, but i sure have missed your photography matey….yes one photo snapped at just the right time can save a hell of a lot of typing on a steamy night on your back porch Nick, plus they also give you a proper picture of the scene and what you are missing…..and boy dont you just love doing that Nick eh….hee hee

I know folks what a ******* ***** i am aint i…i actually got an error on my first posting, but did not do another posting till i done a refresh on the article to make sure it hadnt gone or had….a couple of refreshes and still said no comments posted…so muggings here thought it was safe to do another posting as it looked like it actually had failed to post my first mail….yes so i repeated myself and gave my fingers a bit more exercise posted the mail to notice that all of a sudden there were two comments ….BOTH MINE UURGHH COMPUTERS PPLAYING FUNNY BUGGERS WITH ME TO MAKE ME LOOK LIKE A RIGHT PLONKER EH…HEE HEE…anyway at least i got my message across even though it was twice.

I did see a doco where contestants from various countries competed to find the best at BBQ’ing. Damn’d if I can remember who won it. I know it wasn’t an Aussie! (perhaps the judges were from Indo and had their palms crossed!).
Anybody know?
This bbq was fun because of the number of people. I think out of the 27 about 21 were female…damn! I invited everyon I knew but that’s who showed up.
Our last bbq at Jasmine’s house in Kerobokan was a smaller affair with 8 of us total. Myself, Ebong and 6 ladies.

Sure looked a good BBW at Oppurtunity Knox’s house mate….good turnout too…with a good percentage of Bali Babes from what i can see….just a pity we wernt there eh Barrie boy….never mind though, something to look forward to in the future. Nick you will be a Dab hand with the Barbie with the practivr you will have had…can show these Ozz boys how its done eh…heehe hhe !
Yes glad you have started taking the photos mate….you dont realise how much you miss them till there not there matey….one picture can tell a thousand words….saves on the old typing on the old porch Nicky boy as well. !
