At the end of the Long Tail in Seminyak Bali

This is what I do all day, play around with the long tail. Actually, this long tail belongs to one of Jevon’s toys, but the thing about it, is it leads back to Jevon. Baliblog encompasses many aspects of life and travel in Bali. Trying to categorize all the information is difficult, as it often falls into many categories. For example, a Balinese restaurant article could fall into the Exploring Bali category, or the Seminyak restaurant category, or the Balinese culture category etc. As this article on the Long Tail (a marketing term) speaks, I think by hitting the subject of Bali from multiple angles I wil be able to best serve my audience.

2006 will be another great year and I look forward to exploring more of the island and writing, photographing and talking about all the hidden and not so hidden treasures that Bali has to offer.

you can put it one way or another; it always comes down to 2 things: time and money. Like you mentioned in a previous post, to live in bali you need to be sure of your income. I’d like to make the move too. I’m still studying now, but I’m thinking of quiting and just try to save up enough money to make the move. How much do you think one needs to get started and live a normal, not exuberant life..?

How long is monkey’s tail? Dude, its hard to say. I have always lived with a tiny amount of money, that’s not to say I don’t spend it when I have it.

Rather than ‘how much money does it take’, I’d concentrate on ‘what the f**k am I going to do when I get to Bali’. If you want to live close to the expat scene, eat Italian food, go partying etc. You can go through $10,000 in 1 year. Or else you can live a but further out, or in less fancy conditions and spend $5,000 a year. Local goods and services are cheap. You will have to have oney for visas, plane tickets and health insurance.

If you are not financially independent you might want to think about your future. THat means generating money. A lot of no hopers end up out here trtying to make it work.

Well, i’d like to start up a bar, or first work for someone elses business. And yes 10 000 a year living well is still very good. Health insurance, i didn’t even know that would exist there. And money for bimonthly airtickets? Could it be cheaper to just buy the business visa?
So what i’d be doing, working my butt off in my own bar, preferably with my best friend, and then take time to go surfing and reading some worldliterature on blue ocean beach with a couple of bintangs…
