big_bird121905.jpgAvian flu, the disease that infects poultry and can be transfered to humans is the latest scare to hit the news. Its been around for a while and it has been known for a long time that 90% of the human flu viruses in the world start in China, where people live in close proximity to chickens and pigs. The deadly strain is called H5N1 and so far has killed 10 people in Indonesia, mostly in the Jakarta area.

For visitors to Bali its probably seems like the plague, if you listen to Fox news. I remember 2 years ago SARS was scaring the pants off people.

Most of the people who became infected with H5N1 worked closely with poultry. You are not going to get the flu by ordering a bargain bucket at KFC. This flu is a thing that will be in the headlines for a while I’m sure, but tourists should not be alarmed.

Does anyone know one defining symptom of bird flu? I mean the one that sets it apart from other flus?

We all know every flu has the same symptoms like high fever, aching in muscles and joints, etc. But bird flu has one symptom that other flus don’t have. Can any one guess what it is?

“Does anyone know one defining symptom of bird flu?”

How about this: the un-controllable urge to shit all over wind-shield.

Is it right?
