aloe050405.jpgBali is 8 degrees south of the equator which means the sun out here is intense. For white people like me with freckles sun exposure can lead to discomfort if not paid enough attention. The most obvious strategy for limiting sunburn is to stay inside, or cover up, wear a hat and use sunscreen. This year I have been using another product to help prevent the aging of the skin that tropical sunlight can increase. Aloe Vera gel by Banana boat comes in a pump bottle and is easy to apply. After walking around Kuta and taking a shower I like to spread some of this cooling green lotion on places that had exposure to the sun. Aloe Vera gel helps overexposed areas and also moisturize. I figure a 450g bottle will last maybe 2 months and the benefits will outweigh the cost which is around 70,000rp.

You can find Banana Boat Aloe Vera Gel in Circle K and other convenience stores.
