So I have been here for like 9 days now. Nick and I got into it right away and have not stopped. Here is a typical day of mine/ours (we are together for most of it)
7:30 a.m. – wake-up under mosquito net
7:35 a.m. – Light coil and put it in bathroom in hopes that the mossies will fuck off.
7:45 a.m. – Shower, cloth myself, put on sunscreen, gather myself. Nick is probably doing much of the same…I don’t really watch him.
8:00 a.m. – Head over to our breakfast place. Nick and I both have an order of “Bali Coffee”. I also order 2 eggs and 1 piece of toast. 10 minutes boiled for the eggs. Nick and I discuss what are we gonna do today. Breakfast costs 13,000 Rp = 1.50 US
8:45 a.m. – Internet-Outpost, It’s Happy hour from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Internet-outpost. We crank away while the connection is best. The mornings seem to be the fastest. The rest of Bali is not online yet…a good time to get quicker access.
9:20 a.m. – Nick cracks a joke with the staff (Ika and Enda) at Internet-outpost, they laugh. They are friendly folks who laugh at my jokes too. I guess 2 white geeks typing away and cracking jokes is a kinda funny scene.
11:00 a.m. – Finish up at Internet-outpost and go to Seminyak for house seeing appointments. Frequently we stop at Krakatoua’s (it’s an expat cafe, lockbox place and message boards with houses for rent)

12:30 or 1 p.m. – arrive at GlobalXtreme Cyber Cafe (near Seminyak) after house chasing. I quickly look for Mystery woman, if she is there, I sit next to her and say nothing. If she is not there, I look to sit at a seat as far away from the chain smokers as possible.
Nick and I work for 1 hour, have a lunch break and watch sports on the cafe TV, and then hit the computers for another hour.
3:30 p.m. – Leave the Cafe and run more errands like, seeing more houses, going to the bank, visiting vendors of services that we need, etc.
5 or 6 p.m. – Arrive back in Kuta Beach (our guesthouse is here)
We have a large Bintang, 2 glasses please. This is about the most refreshing drink of the day.
7:00 p.m. – Hit internet-outpost for another hour or 2. Meet friends, acquaintances.
9:30 p.m. – eat dinner. Last night Nick and I had what people consider the best pizza in kuta. It was decent thin pizza. Remember, I am from Chicago and have a belly that indicates I know what good pizza is! Cost for 2 medium pizzas and 2 large bintangs = 60,000 Rupiah or $7 US.
10:30 – we have not gone out much (just for my Birthday) – so at this time it is back to the room to read and get ready for bed. Read a book, try to cool off.
10:35 – Light 2 coils for those mossies, turn the fan on full blast so they get blown by the windstorm created.
Everyday is not exactly like this, but much of it is. Random appointments always come up and are scheduled. We went to Ubud for 1 nght and 2 days….but you get the idea.
