2005 Kuta Karnival starting soon

Kuta's annual event, the Kuta Karnival is coming up soon. The Kuta Karnival started in 2003 as a response to the Bali Bombing and has become a regular event. The overall theme of the Kuta Karnival is 'A Celebration Of Life'. This year's event has been moved forward from September to June and its own motto is 'A Summer Of Fun'. For visitors to Bali you have a week to check out the event, which goes from 25 June up until 3 July. The Kuta Karnival features a wide range of events including surfing competitions at Kuta Halfway, beach soccer tournaments, food court at the top of the beach at Jl Melasti, sandcastle building and others. A daily schedule of events is on the official website and you can plan in advance what you want to see. In past years I have checked out the skateboarding which is on a specially built ramp on Kuta Beach, the food court featuring some of the best restaurants in Kuta and the surf memorabilia at the Discovery Hotel in Tuban.

I have seen the Hawaiian surfboard owned by Bob Koke, the first surfer in Bali in 1936. Nightly bands rock out on Kuta Beach and if you have the kids or want some free excitement check out the Kuta Karnival.
