Bali bombers invited to police bbq
Some of the terrorists convicted of planning and carrying out the Sari Club & Paddy’s bombings in 2003, were treated to a bbq party at the house of Indonesia’s anti-terror unit chief. The 5th anniversary of the bombings is tomorrow, October 12th 2007, and not wanting to be left out, the bombers including Mubarok shared Muslim prayers and feasted on kebabs.
Indonesia has some creative sentencing, as well as methods of dealing with criminals. Ten years for marijuana, bbq party for murder. The reason given for the get together was those in attendance had ’seen the light’ and were now co operating with police. Brigadier General Surya Dharma, whose house the party took place at said “”We approach the terrorists with a pure heart,” “We are all Muslims. We make them our brothers, not our enemy.”
As long as they said sorry I guess all is forgotten.

ok lest we forget it was 2002
when you belong to the worlds biggest criminal street gang that I guess you got to look after each other. total b.s. just one other reason i no longer waste my money in Indonesia and spend my holidays in the Carribean and South Pacific.
I purposely don\’t go to Indonesia because of the racist hatred that is so ever present there and especially in Bali.
This acceptance of the terrorists and the fact that the terrorist schools in East Java and Sumatra are over subscribed leads us to view that the common Indonesian person is just as misguided by this corrupt, outdated, pathetic, irrelevant superstition that they call Islam.
The reason Indonesia is winning their war on terror is because they have taken this approach in dealing with terrorists in a some what humane manner. The recent arrests that have been made, of high ranking terrorists, have been because they have treated prisoners with respect and have been educating them.
Sure they could try the whole Guantanamo stlye of dealing with terrorists but I think if that were the case there would be more terrorists and more problems.
I also would disagree that Bali is a racist place. That is just wrong!!!
The alternative approach taken by the U.S. is to pick up suspects, send them to a third-world prison where torture is common practice, and then claim they never heard of the suspect when he is finally released on account of mistaken identity.
