Today is a national holiday in Indonesia. The occasion is the Ascension to heaven of Prophet Mohammed. Wasn’t there some other dude who ascended to heaven?

Here is Seminyak you would not notice, unless you had to visit a bank, or government office. The dates for Muslims holidays, including the month of Ramadan, change every year, as a lunar calendar is used.

Ika is a Muslim, as am I (on paper). She didn’t mention anything to me this morning and I am not expecting any festivities at home.
