This September will be the anniversary of my last RTW trip and the begining of an itch I just cant scratch. No, its not some nausiating tropical illness contracted from those food wagons that trawl up and down the streets of Sanur, where i was based. Nope. Its the itch to do it all over again. Bali is an amazing place and the closest place to heaven Ive been.
My trip was though sadly marred by the bombing which I heard about outside the YHA in Katoomba, bearly a week after. Obviously I was shocked, as was the world. But the thing that showed me the truth of the Bali conscience was when I heard from a local friend I had meet and to him the bombing of his home was just one of those things. He was more upset by the fact that the Red Hot Chilli Peppers had cancelled their dates on Bali. If adventure is terror in retrospect, then bali wasnt really an adventure, because the only piece of terror I experienced was not being able to get an account balance through the local ATM`s. Hardly a nightmare in somewhere so perfect.
