First Impressions: Again

As I mentioned before, I was here earlier this year. In the 9 months or so since I left, some changes/growth has occurred in Bali’s main tourism area.

1) Sari Club: The area is almost completely rebuilt. Back in Feb/March of this year it was rubble - now there is a big building and businesses back in there

2) New restaurants, clubs and businesses. No doubt many have gone outta business, but more new buildings/roads are popping up all over the place. My morning run down to the beach along Oberoi road has more buildings and less view of rice fields than 9 months ago

3) Nick is more confident on his motorbike. The first few weeks he looked like a newborn lamb on his motorbike.

4) Business as usual seems to be returning. Business has not returned to levels pre-Bali Bomb according to every vendor I have spoked to in the past 48 hours…but it is better than it has been since the bombing.

Other Stuff
Chris (Australia Chris) arrived a few hours ago and it is superb to see him. All 4 of us are off to watch Newcastle v Liverpool at Stadium Cafe tonight and it should be a good laugh. We will do our best to send off Chris (Nick’s bro Chris) in proper fashion before he leaves manana.

Surfing this morning was super. I have talked to 100’s of surfers through the course of my life and many of them are into surfing in a spiritual way…now that I have done a bit of it, I think I can see why. It is super fun, and I hope Chris, Nick and I can go every day and just hang out waiting for the perfect wave. We’ll try for some pictures of so you all can laugh at “Surfing Nerds”.

Our meetings officially start monday after surf lesson #2. I have a few ideas and want to here y’all feedback on it if that’s ok.

Peace from Sunny Bali,

G’Day Sean,

Did you find this time that Bali seems more relaxed. Yaitu, when I returned after ten years, I found the pace less hectic. I realise the BB might have some bearing on that.

Sean, I for one would be happy to supply you with feedback!.

Chris(Bro Nick),

Have a safe journey. Hey, you’re going back into the UK winter!. Yuk!…

Davo: True - sorry I was not so clear on that…the whole corner area look more built up now than even 9 months ago. Cheers.
