Delicat Restaurant: Ubud, Bali

By Barrie | April 28th, 2008 | 1 Comment »

I don’t get much of a chance to get up to Ubud as I am usually bypassing it on my way to other parts of the island, but when I do it is usually to Casa Luna or my all-time favourite, Kafe Batan Waru. Ubud is one of those places where you need a week [...]

Eating in Downtown Ubud

Ubud is the place to go if you are looking for relaxation with creatures comforts close at hand, plus the feel of a Balinese art village. For someone who enjoys food, Ubud will be a wonderful place to hang your hat for a while.

Cafe Lotus: Ubud Bali

By Nick | January 16th, 2007 | 1 Comment »

Returning to downtown Ubud from Museum Blanco, we pulled over and parked across from Cafe Lotus, on Jl. Raya Ubud. This restaurant has the most amazing view. Pura Saraswati backs on to it and guests can sit under the elongated ‘bale’ structure and admire the temple across the lotus pond. This afternoon Ika ordered a [...]

Warung Nasi Pak Sedan: Ubud Bali

By Nick | January 16th, 2007 | 1 Comment »

Ika’s mother requested a visit to Ubud, for reasons I’ll get to later. Ika has been to Ubud before [...]

Sometimes in the afternoon, you get those short falls of energy, and a little boost is in order. Today while checking out the villages of Peliatan and Tegallalang, I felt like a small dessert was the ticket. Back in Ubud I knew just where to go. Casa Luna on Jl. Raya Ubud, has a dessert [...]

Exploring Bali by car

By Nick | December 31st, 2006 | 2 Comments »

After getting back from the road trip to East Bali, I was frazzled as usual, after several hours of swinging an SUV through Balinese mountain roads and hairpin corners. As mentioned before, there are several factors that will affect every trip, anywhere in the world. Among these factors are number of people, weather, budget, mode [...]

Nomad : Ubud Bali

By Nick | December 22nd, 2006 | 5 Comments »

My choice for lunch today was Nomad on Jl. Raya Ubud. Why you might ask, am I continually taking my guests to western restaurants. There are a few reasons, which include, having a mixed group (men, woman, kid), the kid may not like Indonesian food, but will like a smoothie, Ubud has great food and [...]

Casa Luna on a rainy afternoon in Bali

By Nick | December 21st, 2006 | 1 Comment »

Bali has been steamy today, or least the part where I am. Arriving in Ubud, we were hoping for rain, to cool the place down. Sure enough, around 2pm it poured. Realizing this and wanting to crank out some articles, I ducked into Cassa Luna on Jl. Raya Ubud and sat out back, under the [...]

KAFE : Ubud Bali

By Nick | December 21st, 2006 | Add a Comment »

My friends were getting hungry around noon today and I offered some alternatives. My final choice was KAFE, located on the lower section of Jl. Hanuman. “This place is a little bit of Eugene (Oregon),” I said, meaning the hippy / new age person would be drawn there.
