Australian hotel owner arrested with marijuana in Lombok

The latest chapter in the mini-series ‘Aussies in a Paradise Jail’, stars 43 year old Barbara Kathleen Higgs, from Pinjarra, Western Australia. She was arrested on Sunday at her Senggigi beach hotel Bulan Baru, in Lombok, with 50g of ‘wacky-backy’ and some seeds. Probably dobbed in by the person who sold it to her.

Its not just infidels who are the target of religious fundamentals. In Lombok a religious Muslim community has been attacked by another Muslim group, because their interpretation of the religion is different. Sound familiar? These guys must have been hanging out with Christians.

Nyepi, the Balinese ‘Day of Silence’ will be on March 30th 2006. For people planning a trip to Bali in March, you should take this into account. Nyepi is the day when the whole island is ritually cleansed and no one is allowed out on the street, including tourists.
