Looking for a cheap hotel in Bali

Bali has 20,000 hotel rooms supposedly. Today is December 20th, which is high-season. That means prices are increased and rooms are harder to get. Puri Etnik is a budget hotel in Legian. Situated between Jl. Melasti and Jl. Benesari, Puri Etnik is just 70 meters from the beach. Rooms are $99 per person for a 10day package including breakfast.

The Kuta Beach has been around for 30 years. Located on Jl. Singosari, the one-way street that ends at Matahari Square, Kuta Beach Club looks like an older Balinese style hotel.

Back in 2003 I visited the Aneka Beach Hotel on Jl. Pantai Kuta and interviewed Made Purnami. Made is the Sales Manager and showed me around the property. The Aneka Beach Hotel I remember had very nice gardens and a few bungalows with natural bamboo and alang alang roofs.
