Leader of terror group arrested in Indonesia

Indonesian police have arrested the highest level member of the terror group responsible for the 2002 Bali bombings. No its not Abu Bakar, he’s already been arrested and released, this guy’s name is Abu Dujana and his connections to terror go way back.

Abu Bakar Bashir, the Muslim cleric, who is thought to be the head of JI (Jemaah Islamiyah), the terrorist organisation repsonsible for the Bali bombings, has ordered a halt on terrorist activities in Indonesia.

When I arrived in Bali in January 2003, I set about interviewing Balinese locals, who were present during the bombings and the Sari Club and Paddy’s. Many of those people are still in the area, and I did manage to meet the husband of one lady, who was injured.

The horrific bombing that took place in Kuta Bali in 2002, was planned by JI (Jemaah Islamiyah) operative, Dulmatin. His wife was arrested recently on the Philippine island of Jolo.


 

Denpasar court sentences Bali Bomb collaborator to 15 years

A court in Denpasar has sentenced a collaborator in the 2005 Bali Bombings, to 15 years in jail. Three other terrorists have already been sentenced to between 8 and 18 years in the triple suicide blasts, which killed 20 people and injured more than 100 others.

Jemaah Islamiyah (JI), the terrorist organisation behind the Bali Bombings in 2002 and 2005, seems to outsiders like a ragtag band of disenfranchised youths, lead by a few crazy radical scholars and technicians. One of JI’s head trainers has come over to the other side, naming JI members and helping police.

Bali Bomb II conspirator jailed

Another win for the good guys! That’s the news today from Denpasar District Court, after Bali Bomb II conspirator, Abdul Aziz, was jailed for 8 years. In my view it should be 80 years, or better, an express elevator to the bottom of the Lombok Strait.
