The coast south of Gianyar is important for Balinese people but not such a draw for tourists. Until several years ago most tourists didn’t even visit this section of coastline, those heading east to Padangbai / Candi Dasa taking the main roads through Gianyar and Klungkung.
House for sale in Tampaksiring Bali

Sunday afternoon Ika, Jevon and I are heading up to Tampaksiring, close to Ubud to help a friend sell his house. Mike Hillis from California owns a 2-storey place in Tampaksiring (a furniture and wood carving center) and needs someone to show a potential buyer around.

This morning’s Jakarta Post had a feature article about recycling. I used to work at a recycling center in California, many years ago and often get frustrated with people chucking their waste out on the street here in Bali.
