Indonesian ferry sinks off of Kalimantan
By Nick | November 13th, 2006 |A ferry has sunk off of southern Kalimantan, killing 10 people. The Karya Mandiri was carrying 60 passengers from West Kalimantan to the port of Sukamara, on the coast of Central Kalimantan.

By Nick | April 18th, 2006 |Indonesian ferries don’t exact set the standard for safety. Often times they are old wooden junkers, run by a bunch of local guys, who fly by the seat of their pants. I have been on fairly large vessels that had no electronic devices whatsoever. Navigation was basically ‘guestimation’.
