Drowned surfer identified

A surfer who went missing, while surfing at Bingin on the Bukit Peninsula, has been found in West Bali. The body of 30 year old Chin Tenh Fung, from Melbourne, was found by fishermen off of Perancak beach (location of macapung, buffalo races), and identified by his relatives.

Watersports proved dangerous last week as 3 Australians lost their lives. Jeffrey Joseph Rigby, 48, from Perth, drowned on Seminyak beach surfing. Balinese locals held a ceremony on the beach to cleanse it of evil spirits. Australian drowns off of East Bali

An elderly Australian has drowned off of East Bali. The 82 year old woman was snorkeling at the time. This takes the week’s total to 3 Australians you have come to grief in the ocean.


 

Water sports can be hazardous in Bali

This last week in Bali 2 tourists died while enjoying water sports. The first was a 40 year old Australian who was rescued from drowning on Kuta beach. He was hit by large waves while swimming, and though revived by life guards, passed away at BIMC in Kuta.


 

Be careful when swimming in Bali

Bali offers sunny skies, friendly people and the ocean. Going surfing or swimming are attractive propositions, but are not without risks. Your 2 biggest risks in Bali are a traffic accident and a swimming accident.
