Visiting a temple during a ceremony is a great way to inter mingle with Balinese people and see the temple as it really should be seen. On Tuesday the temple at Pura Ulun Danau Bratan at Lake Bratan and Pura Luhur Pacak Sari up the hill in Bedugal was having its odalan.

Mike Hillis sent me an sms on Saturday morning asking if I wanted to watch some dokar races in Denpasar. Dokars are the 2-wheel horse drawn carts that ply the streets around Kuta.

Monday February 7th meant an early appointment for me at a downtown café called Double D located on Jl. Legian next to Star Surf, across Simpang Cafe and down from Ryoshi. The reason was a game of American football called the Superbowl that is an annual event in the US.
