Okay here’s the deal folks. I’m here in Candi Dasa, East Bali. I’ve had a very active day checking stuff out and talking to locals. Internet connection is dial-up, meaning very slow. Candi Dasa has motorbike and car rental places, an ATM, money changers, some slow internet access, postal services. Candi Dasa is served by Perama Bus, around 35,000rp from Kuta.

Padangbai is a quiet fishing village in East Bali. When I visited back in 1993, it was very popular with divers and backpackers. The main attraction of Padangbai, is its rustic character.
