Saying goodbye to Steve from WA Australia

Steve Love just came over to my house to say goodbye. Steve has been over my place for bbq’s before, this time he’s been surfing almost everyday. Recently he did a trip out to Medewi, and said the surf was great. Swell on the Bukit expected to be big today and friday.

Surf conditions were decent today on the Bukit, according to Bali Waves. Wind was ESE at 2-4 knots, water temp was 22C, and the clear blue skies led into a 30C type of afternoon.

Chatting with a friend last night I learned there are 2 new resorts being built on the Bukit Peninsula. Apparently there will be a golf course too. My friend said they have dumped soil to build the bunkers and its all go.

A second Australian man is feared dead in Bali, a day after a fellow Aussie surfer drowned at Seminyak beach. According to the Sydney Morning Herald, a 30 year old man from Victoria was missing after surfing at Uluwatu, Bali’s premier surf break.

Surfing: The peak season in Bali

July is the peak season for surfing in Bali. The SW coast, all the way from Medewi to Uluwatu enjoys offshore winds and decent swell. Kuta beach will be busy too, with begining surfers and local Bali boys jostling for position on larger than normal waves.
