Internet access in Bali has improved over the last few years. Apart from using internet cafes, there are now wi-fi hotspots, some offering free access. Dial-up is no longer the only affordable way to get online at home. There are a number companies offering a range of solutions, depending on your location, requirements and budget.

Bali has about 30 ISP’s (internet service providers). A couple of the most famous are Global Xtreme and Blueline.

My home internet is a great thing to have when the power plays ball. The service is pretty good and means I can pull data together much faster than I can at an internet cafe, because I have my own machine, which I don’t want to haul around town.
