Without a doubt my favourite festival is the Bali Arts Festival and it will be held from June 14 to July 12, and will feature a plethora of local and international performers. The Bali Arts Festival in Denpasar is in full swing. My friend, musician Richard Kaal was asked to perform with his Balinese gamelan / western fusion, but didn’t have time to practice for the event. Running until July 14th 2007, the event has an extensive schedule and features some unique Balinese dances.

The Bali museum in Denpasar was built in 1931 and it is unique collection of buildings and art. Designed by architect P.J. Moojen, the exterior walls, courtyards and gates, are designed in the style of a Denpasar royal palace.

In his opening speech at the Bali Arts Festival in Denpasar, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono expressed full support of cultural diversity saying it is needed to sustain the nation's rich and colourful cultural heritage.
