Zula vegetarian restaurant in Seminyak Bali

Living here in Bali I have an enormous choice of places to eat and usually hit the favourites which include Café Moka and Warung Gossip.

Today I tried a new place called Zula on Jl. Dhyana Pura which specializes in vegetarian food.

I must admit I like nothing more than getting into some bbq or sapi rendang when I get the chance so trying a veggie joint is a nice change.

The inside is quite small and I sat close to the door at a table for 4. The menu at Zula consists of vegetarian organic soups, salads, Mediterreanean sides and interesting drinks. I choose the Meditereanean platter size medium for 38,000rp which included hummus, babaganoush (didn’t he play for the Lakers?), tahini sauce, arabian salad, felafel and other items. With pita bread it was filling and good.

Zula is located on Jl. Dhyana Pura 30 meters from Jl. Seminyak, opposite JP’s.

I was turned on to this place by my German friend Andrea who has just returned from Lombok. She’s raving about Lombok as I will interview her soon.

Here’s a news item on the Indonesian election. Golkar will likely win so you could be looking at the new Pres. Seems he will ‘take care of problems’ like Suharto used to.

Hi Nick,

Love the blog…as for the presidential election, most people I’ve spoken to in Bali (both Balinese and Javanese), believe the other general, Susilo (ex security minister), will win, not General Wiranto of Golkar. An interesting aside is that Megawati is the grandaughter of a Balinese. No wonder she’s well loved in Bali! Her minister of tourism and culture, Mr. Ardika, is also Balinese, and a very nice chap to boot. Hope he’s able to keep his job!

Mark, I don’t want General Wiranto as Pres. for sure and hope we get at least some decent person. I had the chance to meet Mr Ardika when he was here last year and gave him a Baliblog shirt (I’m sure he wears it at every opportunity).

Everyone else, wow 41! Doesn’t that sound old. I must say though today I feel wonderful and even though I’ve got a few aches from my workout the other day can’t wait to get into it again. I think living in Indonesia helps to make the age thing less important, I’m very lucky I get to enjoy great people, great food, great weather and work with great people too. How much better could life be?

You are right Nick, you are truly blessed, and even more so because you realise how lucky you are. But it’s not luck that got you where you are its hard work and commitment too.

Selamat ulang tahun, semoga panjang umur, sehat dan bahagia selalu

Feel free to correct me if I am wrong Barrie, I’m only learning so won’t be offended!!
