Warung Murah: Always a winner in Legian Bali

murah073105.jpgCall me boring but I love hearty food. Indonesian food is quite hearty and if you can find a place that serves it the way you like you are set. This afternoon I strolled down to Warung Murah (Warung Cheap) on Jl. Double Six. I was anticipating what I was going to have as my favourite items all fall in a tight grouping. The chicken there is so tender it falls off the bone and the potatoes remind me of food in England, add to that steamed veg and rice and you've got a belly full. Today I noticed a plate with something else on. "Apa itu?" I asked. It was sweet and sour fish, so I took one. Very nice and my entire bill was 17,000rp.

Warung Murah is located about 100 meters from the beach and is open all day. Try to come before 8pm otherwise the good stuff tends to get cleared out.

G’Day Nick,

Just looking at the foto of the food makes me hungry!. Sure doesn’t make my vegemite on toast for breakfast very appeasing.

I see your Bahasa Indo is getting better mate. Good one.

I am so sad you recommend Warung Murah withou mentioning Warung Melati, also situated at the Jl. Double Six (they are nearly neighbours), the food of which, in our opinion, is still a bit tastier than that of Murah. Of course, there is no accounting for tastes, but mentioning Murah and not Melati, no that is not possible!
