Ubud is known as the arts center of Bali. I have scratched the surface of the place, by staying in guest houses, exploring on my motorbike and going for a swim in the river. My writing style is rather clumsy and I just talk about the stuff I do. The Belfast Telegraph has an article by Lucy Gillmore, that describes her time in Bali during Nyepi.
Lucy’s article has plenty of adverbs and is dripping with description. Its almost a fantasy reading this article and creates a great image. I basically agree with the picture she painted and that is, after all, what the owners of fancy resorts want you too feel, a luxury pad, complete with infinity pool, martini’s and culture, all stuck inside a forest in the mountains. Compared with Belfast, Bali must of seemed like a dream.
