One of the eye-catching shops in the Kuta area is a little place called the Vespa Shop which is located close to Pasar Agung on Poppies I. The Vespa Shop sells restored Vespa's dating back to 1965 as well as some funky versions of that bike. Vespa's come from Italy and an Italian motorbike enthusiast once told me there were 4 million Vespa's in Indonesia. They are affordable, simple to fix and cheap to run, "The best bike for going around the world." he said. I don't know about that but for a small person who wants to zip around town a Vespa will work.
I saw a nice green 1966 Vespa Super 150 for 10m rp. The Vespa Shop does modifications and restorations. It deals in Vespa Harley, Vespa Chopper and Vespa Classic models. Really takes me back to England in the early 80’s with a resurgence of the Mod & Rockers scene.

When in Rome…
You’ve been to Italy Nick and so you would know what Vespa madness is like. I couldn’t imagine that in Kuta. It’s bad enough with the other bikes!
I travel the world looking for antique furniture for my shops in Australia, my last trip from Europe was great and very rewarding, I had few days to myself which is very rare and I travelled around on a 1964 Vespa, taking all the sights. I want one. I also travel to Indonesia on many occasions staying in Sanur Beach where I base myself whilst shopping for furniture, I am certainly in the market for a Vespa, I will call in next time soon.
Regards Mike.
