The Copa will please All

Almost tucked away on the corner of Jl Melasti and Jl Benesari is a really good restoran for the whole family.

The Copa Cafe has the benefit of having access from two streets, as well as a small but superb alfresco area. The restoran might seem small from the outside, but once you enter it’s a decent size with the bonus of upstairs dining if you like. Candika and I took advantage of the alfresco area, and from where I sat I was able to view the big screen TV inside.

There was one thing that struck me immediately and that was the warmth of the staff. They were incredible. It was great to just sit there, watch MTV on the big screen and dine comfortably whilst enjoying the pleasant night air.

The menu was obviously designed to suit all members of the family. For the ‘Rugrats’ there is a Kiddies Corner section. I reckon this is a good idea. How often have you seen young kids in a restoran creating havoc and going troppo cos they don’t want to eat that ‘funny food’!. I’ve heard that term used so many times. Kids are happy with food they can associate with. The Copa restoran has just that with a good selection of burgers and shakes, as well as kids-size portions of the ‘funny food’ if they desire.

The Chinese and Indonesian sections offer good choices, as does the sections of poultry and seafood. I was impressed with the reasonably priced Breakfast menu. The prices were between Rp8-10,000. Good value for budget travellers.

Candika decided to go ‘Western’ and selected FISH & CHIPS (Rp11,000). It turned out to be a good choice for her. There were half a dozen medium size, thick slices of battered fish and heaps of crinkle-cut chips!. None of the usual French Fries in sight!. The whole meal serving was more than you would get in a Fish & Chip Shop. And….to top it all off, there was a generous serve of side salad. Great value for money.

My choice was the YELLOW FIN TUNA BUMBU BALI (Rp15,000). A healthy sized grilled tuna steak topped with a very spicy coconut cream sauce. The flesh was flaky and a definite melt-in-the-mouth job!. The tuna was served with charcoal grilled long green beans, strips of green & red chilli peppers, and a selection of other veggies. The Nasih Putih was soft and very beautiful to devour.

Atmosphere: Tremedous
Food Quality: Deliciously delightful
Service: Superb
Rating: 7.5
