The Balcony Restaurant is located on Jl. Benesari between Brasil Restaurant and the beach, across from the Circle K. I spent a very pleasant hour watch a safari movie about a group of guys from Californian who came out to Indonesia and camped on a remote island looking for the surf. The Balcony has a menu which is reasonably priced (my ahi ahi steak was 30,000rp) and is cool to sit in. I have passed this place a hundred times before but for some reason never checked it out.
Located on the second floor, The Balcony is not so affected by motorbike noise as other street-side places on Jl. Benesari. The natural wood roof goes to a point, the place is breezy without being windy and they have a nice bar. The large video screen is great for in-house entertainment. There is enough seating for about 50 people, meaning this is a small restaurant but with good food. My dinner was exquisitely done. The menu is divided into: Morning of the Earth (breakfast), Breakfast al la Carte, Sandwiches, Starters & Snacks, Soups, Salads, Pastas, Balcony Specials, Fish & Seafood, Indonesian Food, Desserts.
Among the Balcony Specials are: Giant Mixed Meat Skewer (68,000rp), Jumbo Rump Steak (68,000) and Wienerschnitzel (30,000rp). You can find better deals on food on Poppies I & II and also on Jl. Benesari, but the setting and entertainment, not to mention the food itself won't be as good.
