Lunchtime today I road down Jl. Oberoi passed a host of familiar places, and some that have newly opened. It was starting to rain so I was hurrying along looking for an inviting place to eat. My choice was Sweet Basil, a place at the end of Jl. Oberoi, after Ku De Ta, before it curves towards Pura Petitenget.
They were advertising a green chicken curry for 25,000rp and a red fish curry for 20,000rp. I took the green curry, and with a hot tea the meal was very nice. Sweet Basil has no other customers, dead as a doornail. There is an attached Thai cooking school, so I knew the food would be good. I could do with a little more fire than the dish offered, but was pleased with the end result all told.
Sweet Basil’s menu includes Appetizers and Snacks, Soup, Main Courses, BBQ selection, Noodles and Rice, Vegetables, Dessert. BBQ kind prawn is 65,000rp and Red pork curry is 52,000rp. A small Bintang is 12,000rp.
They had no business cards When I visited, but told me the boss also owns Sate Bali, just up the street.
