Coming home from Global internet in Kerobokan I was thinking what to have for dinner. Not wanting rice, I chose a place that doesn’t serve rice, Rumours on Jl. Oberoi. Parking across the street I saw the lot was full, strange because I was not expecting too many people to be out on such a rainy night. Getting a seat straight away I saw the restaurant was 90% full, not bad for a Monday night. After getting into a bread basket, my choice was Beef Stroganoff for 28,500rp. The French say a meal without wine is like a day without sunshine. I didn’t want to be 0 for 2, so I ordered a glass of the cheap Aussie wine they have on the list.
During my wait I saw various older expats arriving with their model-like girlfriends and after about 15 minutes the food showed up. My plate contained green beans, carrots, mashed potato and the beef. Everything was great and although they use local beef, it was tender as you can imagine. Very good job Rumours!
My total bill was 61,000rp.

I and various members of my family have been coming to Bali for years and always make at least 2 visits to this restaurant during our stays. Food is always excellent, fresh, great for kids and my daughter says it has the best mashed potatoe!
