Seminyak: Who is it best for?

Seminyak is 2 miles north of Kuta directly up Jl. Legian. The area has developed amazingly over the last 5 years and now it is expat and restaurant central, not to mention the center of the best party scene on the island.

If you want an up-market hotel on the beach, a private villa with close access to the beach, to clothes shops and fine restaurants, Seminyak is the place. You will not find Bintang t-shirt shops or wall to wall DVD stalls. You will find boutiques, spas, European and Japanese restaurants and a decent nightlife scene. Also the beach in Seminyak is way less busy and you can actually go for a walk and feel like you are around locals rather than thousands of tourists. Jl. Dhyana Pura is sometimes called The Strip for its party scene and Jl. Oberoi is sometimes called Eat Street for its ever increasing array of restaurants. If you are staying in Seminyak you should also check out Jl. Petitenget for La Lucciola, Venue @ The Moon and The Living Room, all great places to eat.

Honeymooners, people who like luxury and good food will love Seminyak.
