Wanting some nasi campur around 7.30pm tonight I walked over to Warung Mimpi on Jl. Dhyana Pura with another request from Ika to pick up some mie goreng (fried noodles) for her. Arriving on Dhyana Pura I could see the street was busy and there was not an empty table at Mimpi, the 3rd time this week its happended. Tourist is great and all, but when there are many tourists in town in often means I have to wait, or simply can't get a seat.
Strolling down towards the beach I passed the American-expat favourite, Warung Kita, and 10 meters further down was a newly opened place called Warung Kemangi. This place has a simple but smart design, almost Japanese and has an Indonesian menu.
I ordered a big bowl of soto ayam (chicken soup), a chicken satay and rice plus a juice jeruk (orange juice). To add to the fun they had a tv with Premiership soccer (Man U vs. Everton live). The soup was good, the satay very nice and a generous portion. My bill was 22,000rp. While in their Seminyak had a power outage. It only lasted for 15 minutes, no big deal, but I didn't really care, as the new warung was a good discovery.

Hi Nick,
I trust you have been watching the cricket eh mate….it aint half fun watching a bit of ozzy bashing as the England cricketers are showing Warney and co how its done. Ger in there boys and up the barmy army…. ye whoo…. As i am watching it we are bowling the tail enders which should not be a problem…..and then the ashes will be ours. Funny how its all gone quiet in the Ozz Supporters aint it…..ye whoo go on Engerlaand.
Gday one and all
Mark
Thanks to a real captains knock by Punter the Ashes series is still 1 each. If the Aussie selectors pick the right bowling attack for the 4th test it should be Australia 2, England 1 and that will be enough to retain the Ashes regardless of the 5th test result.
G’day Nick,
I suppose you could call Jl Dhyana Pura ‘Good Tucker Road’.
