Post office in Kuta Bali

The main Post Office in Kuta is located off of Jl Raya Kuta, just south of Jl. Bakung Sari. You will find the largest money changer and main bank of BCA right in that area too. The post office (kantor pos) is open 7am-2pm Mon-Thur, 7am-11am Fri and 7am-12.30pm Sat.

You can send and receive mail here, as well as mailing large packages. When I was a backpacker I used the poste restante service all over Asia. Poste restante means if I am heading to Jakarta and you want to send me mail, or a package, you address it ‘Nick O’Neill, General Poste Restante, Jakarta etc. Many places in Asia have a little section in their office where poste restante stuff is kept. Security varies, so don’t mail money or valuables. You’ll need ID to pick stuff up.

Around the Kuta area you’ll find many other little postal agencies. There is one on the ground of Matahari department store in Kuta Square, and another outside Okie House hotel on Poppies Lane II. You can buy stamps, mail letters and packages, but not receive mail. The postal agencies sell phone cards, which can be used on a land line. These are absolutely the cheapest way to call overseas.

The post service in the Matahari is no longer available. The sign on the escalator is old and the management doesn’t bother to update it.
