Pop go my Tastebuds on Poppies Lane Two

The Wombat has done it again - found another restoran that is a pearler with good tucker and very cold beer.

The Ratu restoran is, without a doubt, a great place to eat and relax whilst watching the people traffic in Poppies Lane 2. From the outside the restoran seems small, but once you enter it is a big and can cater for 100 people.

What impressed me firstly was the cleanliness of the place. Secondly, the staff first-up introduced themselves and make you feel right at home. Candika and I both salivated as we perused the extensive menu. A superb selection of dishes to suit any palette, and all reasonably priced. The fruit juice selection was incredible as were the entrees, soups and salads. For a light bit of tucker their snack list is brilliant.

But it was the big tucker we were interested in and the choice was mesmerising. Grilled steaks, Chinese, and seafood to a good list of tasty pizzas that would even make Leonardo Da Vinci salivate!. I was impressed with the Indonesian dishes available as I was with the Balinese dishes. And the desserts, well, what a yummy selection!.

Candika had lost her adventurous impetus and chose the Chicken Satay. The 8 Satay sticks were brought to the table on a cradle of hot coals as was a full dish of tangy peanut sauce. Together with a small salad and an ample serving of french fries, Candika was in 7th Heaven. It didn’t take long for Candika to devour that before she started making eyes on my meal.
I decided on the Grilled Chicken in Garlic Butter sauce. A more than ample portion of chicken delicately smothered with the garlic butter sauce. Yum!. Truly, the most tender chicken I’ve had in a long time and, very moorish. The chicken was served with a small side salad and delicious french fries.

Chicken Satay: Rp20,000
Grilled Chicken: Rp25,500

The Ratu restoran also has a great breakfast menu and is excellent value at Rp15,000.

Food: 5
Service: 5

Hi Tracey,

Seriously though, ring Garuda and see what they have to offer price-wise. If you can’t get a decent price from them, then you could always defect and fly the other airline…paradise thingie!.

I need some rough dates from you if you could give me an idea.
