Riding home after checking out the temple, I swung round a bend and saw a sign that said ‘Pawitra Sari – Visual Art Center’. Curious, I dismounted and while removing my helmet was greeted by the staff who invited me in to take a look. Pawitra Sari is a 2-story place that features oil paintings in traditional Balinese style and modern carving. They gave me a brochure, in Bahasa Indonesia, that gives a pretty good insight into the artists who display here.
Twenty three artists, all male, are profiled. Some are in their 60′s but all have their own unique style and create very different pieces. Not being an expert on Balinese art, I had never heard of the artists, but for those of you who have, the artists include; Gusti Putu Sana, Dewa Made Oka Wiri and Ketut Liyer. Out back was an array of structures ranging from a bale to a rice barn. I was told they were to be use to serve food at a later date.

I have a painting by I Gusti Putu Sana, and I think it is the most beautiful Bali painting I have ever seen. because the style of my painting is so different from the few I have found of his on the net. I am wondering if there are more then one I Gusti Putu Sana?
