Kuta: Who likes it? Who hates it?

Kuta is located on the beach only 2 miles from the airport. If you want minimal travel once you are in Bali, allowing you maximum time to relax, eat, drink, shop and play around on the beach Kuta will work. Backpack travelers wanting cheap accommodation, cheap food and a rocking party scene where your attire and behavior are not important will enjoy Kuta.

Families will have a good time here too because of the range of shopping, kids activities and energy created by all the other people doing exactly the same thing. For people who like the old fashioned bamboo and arak party scene its still alive and kicking.

Culture vultures, that is people who seek the Real Bali generally hate Kuta at it represents all that is western, all that is anti-culture. Up-market tourists hate Kuta because, well damn it, there are so many locals right in your face. Your discerning resort tourist prefers Nusa Dua where the locals are kept comfortably away. Of late the trendy partier hates Kuta, but wait a minute, The Wave, EmBarGo and Fuel have started the Kuta comeback.

lets not forget De ja vu , maby not amazingly great, but works for me. I like to start of at dejavu, go to paparazi, then via paparazi get free entrance to double6 and i also liked baiahna club and from there going of to bounty and embargo.
i just miss the scene.
