Kuta is the first stop for many tourists on their first trip to Bali.
Outside of the Poppies Lane area I don’t usually venture for entertainment. After going to Paddy’s Bar and Bounty Ship with Andrea I know why that is. Cheap drinks and loud music are fun when you’re on holiday but the rowdy atmosphere is a constant. Five minutes in Paddy’s was all it took for Andrea to point out 2 guys brawling on the dance floor, 1 local and 1 tourist. Very ugly scene and one that repeats with a different cast each week.
My friend Josh found out the hard way after someone hit him with an ashtray several monthes ago.
Paddy’s is a busy place with a great location on lower Jl. Legian just south of the former Paddy’s. The central bar and tables make it a place where you could enjoy yourself with the right crowd.
Bounty Ship is in the shape of an old galleon with local dancers on podiums getting the tourists into it. Once again when the ‘jungle juice’ has been going for a few hours people get pretty sloppy and its a ‘meat market meets Outback pub scene.”
Andrea commented that Seminyak is a whole lot nicer, sure it can be a poser’s scene sometimes but I’ll take it over what’s going on in Kuta.

Nothing wrong with a meat market.
