Jl. Benesari in Kuta Bali

Walking down Jl. Benesari at 9pm I noticed many of the better places are full of people. There are many Aussies in town right buying, surfing, eating and drinking. That's what we need for sure. It occurred to me that Jl. Benesari is a bit of an internet alley with 2 new places opening up, one next to Milagro (18,000rp per hour), the little Japanese owned place that I sometimes pop into for a tum yum goong (8,000rp) and the place directly across the street. The good thing about new internet cafe is that they have better hardware, the price can depend on the connection speed.

Good Luck was packed around 8pm and people were in the street looking like they were out for a good time. The Schapelle Corby drama definitely hasn't dented the tourist numbers. Inside Internet Outpost I overheard one guy saying the surf was down from yesterday and will be back up by Saturday. That's great, I'll wax my gun and be first up on Saturday morning.

G’day Nick,

Wax your gun and get into it first thing…?. Ya gotta watch those ripples in the toddlers pool at the hotel!.

Anyway, when are we going to see some fotos of you carving up the swell?.

Barrie,

I view my progress in surfing like a baby coming into the world. Today I was in a surf shop and I actually asked the price of a board. Its a slow process, but being aware of the surfboards is the first step.

Alvie,

Seminyak has a nice selection of places. Its depends what you means by quite cheap, but I have reviewed some hotels already.

Some of these include the Bali Agung Village close to Jl. Dhyana Pura.

The Pelangi, also off of Dhyana Pura.

The Dhyana Pura Hotel.

and the Bali Holiday Resort.

There are guest houses too for example Ned’s Hideaway on Gang Bima, close to Jl. Dhyana Pura
