Jl. Majapahit is one of the small gangs that run parallel to Jl. Legian. Poppies Lane I & II, as well as Jl. Benesari run from Jl. Legian towards the beach. Jl. Majapahit is on the other side of Jl. Legian.
Strolling around at the bottom of Jl. Majaphit around Bemo corner, I walked up it and saw a selection of shops making and selling and range of things. This guy was busily varnishing boomerangs, about one every 10 seconds.
Further up the street I saw 2 guys painting didgeridoo’s. I asked one guy how long it took to paint one and he said he could do 5 in 1 hour. Across the street a little ways futher up I saw a shop selling stone buddhas. If you are walking down Jl. Legian wondering where all the handicrafts come from, the answer is not far away. If you are looking for deals on this kind of stuff, seek out the guys who are making it. Sometimes down a side street, or a block behind the main street they have a ton of the stuff.
