Internet access in Ubud

Last year I did a small guide to internet cafes in Ubud. This time around I have used 3 different ones including Highway on Jl. Raya Ubud and the one next to it. Most of the places tend to have older equipment, some have USB ports, some don't. Suria, the place next to Highway is usually full in the evenings, as the rate is only 9,000rp per hour.

I liked their service as they had Microsoft Office, PhotoShop and USB. This enabled me to download photos and articles and then upload them to the website. The speed was slow when the place was packed but things moved along okay when I was there with just 1 other person. Highway, the best internet cafe in Ubud, is a business center too. You can get your visa processed here and the place is 24 hour. They charge 30,000rp per hour, so you better have your goals in mind before you jump online. Connection is good and the hardware is good. They don't have Photoshop, which for me was a surprise. Highway serves food and drinks so if you need to get some urgent business taken care of, email your boss and tell him you're not coming back, etc. Highway is the place to go.
