Hu’u bar Seminak
Hu'u bar is located on Jl. Petitenget and has gained a reputation among the expat crowd as a cool place to hang out. Situated between Pura Petitenget and Venue @ The Moon, Hu'u bar feels like a clone of Ku De Ta, complete with mini-pool and cool-boy dècor. The whole joint is set under a large natural wood roof, with a large central bar. This afternoon I fancied a bowl of tun yum goong soup and fortunately they had it on the menu. The afternoon menu is refered to as the tapas menu. It is not tapas, it is spring rolls and other snacks but it is nice to have something with your beer.
The soup was good with big chunks of scallop and other types of fish. The grea thing about Hu'u bar is that you can take a dip in the pool, sit and watch the world go by along Jl. Petitenget, or sit at the bar and enjoy the drink menu. My Carlsberg and soup were 98,000rp. The bar is open from 4pm till 3am, if busy. The dinner menu includes tuna steak (90,000rp), fettucine 65,000rp, and fillet mignon 140,000rp.

Let’s hope the decision makers are studying the effects of their trial run.
Regarding getting rear ended you may not have a choice of paying or not. Locals really have their own set of guidelines for driving. Today riding to Denpasar in a taxi it was crazy how many people almost got hit by our car. It was not the driver’s fault but motorbikes would merge across the center line without looking, fly up the inside of us and try to pass at high speed at a bottle neck, unreal.
A while ago one of the guys at Internet Outpost got into a accident on the Bypass. He was tailgating a rider at high speed and someone in front came off creating a mass spill. “Did the people sort out who had to pay who?” I asked him. “No” he said, “everyone was hurt so I didn’t ask him for money.” ‘That was nice of you’ I thought, ‘tailgating the guy, then rear-ending him and not even asking him to pay you!’

The “new” one way off of Kartika is extremely stupid, and it has been going on now for 4 days. Last night I went to play music down that way, had to go the back way. You are right, how do the tamu get back to their hotel, how do all the businesses on that road get traffic, unbelievable, pintar sukali. BTW _ I aint paying anybody if they rear-end me.
