Gekko Blue Cafe: Kuta Galleria Bali

Tuesday lunchtime I had to make a visit to Blueline ISP located in the Kuta Galleria. I stopped at the BCA Bank building along Jl. Raya Kuta to use their ATM, then swung left in the traffic to the rear entrance to Kuta Galleria. The complex includes ACE Hardware a favourite to westerners and locals alike. Located in the center of Kuta Galleria is Gekko Blue Cafe, which is a single storey place under a very nice natural thatched roof. Open on all side the restaurant was completely empty when I showed up. In fact I have never seen this place busy. Kuta Galleria itself is never busy, which makes it pleasant for me because the last thing I want is a mall crawling with shopping carts and mothers with kids. Gekko Blue Cafe is a very pleasant place to sit. The seating is made of rolled banana leaves and the breeze blows through.

The whole time I was eating and writing on my Alpha Smart the 6 staff stood to attention and watched so my experience was somewhat unnatural. But the nasi goreng seafood was good, tasty and not greasy. The menu is divided into Sandwiches, Light Meals, Appetizers, Soups, Open Grill, Mains, Pasta, Japanese Selection, Indonesia & Chinese. Breakfast is available from 9am-12pm. Drinks are divided into Alcoholic Beverages, Hot Beverages, Cold Beverages. My nasi goreng seafood was 22,900rp and my Java tea 8,000rp.
