Ika and I recently discovered an inexpensive place to eat in Legian, called Warung Yogya. Actually it was Ika’s sister Ningrum, the price shopper, who turned us on to it. Warung Yogya is located on Jl. Padma, across from one of those busy DVD stores.
Ika and I ordered a couple of nasi campur’s (mixed rice, including chicken tempe, egg, veg, peanuts), 2 bowls of soup and 2 teas. Price was 32,000rp and the portion were large. Warung Yogya does have a small menu, but its really just an Indo warung. They have seating for about 20 people and while we were there, 10 other westerners sat and ate.
Across the street was a large DVD shop that offered 100 DVD’s and 70 free!!!

Actually its address is Jalan Padma Utara. Not Jalan Padma. If you are in Jl Padma turn down the street that “Posers” pub sits on the corner off and walk down 100 mtrs.

I found Warung Yogya last year. We eat at Warung Soeka Soeka at Jl. Padma - toward the beach - the year before but last year it was not there anymore so I looked around and found this place that close to our hotel Rama Garden Cottages. The place is clean and always have fresh food.
I have just come back from Bali and I had all my meals at Warung Yogya. The address is Jl. Padma Utara #79 right next to Garden View Hotel. Likewise, the menu is small but the food is excellent and the service is great. the place is clean, but only seats about 28 people so be early or you will miss out. When I return to Legian I will be eating there again, and wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.
I can highly recommend this warung. Plates are always piled high and so tasty. Great value for money. Locals and westerns seem to frequent it equally when ever I have had my lunch there. Right next door to the Garden View Hotel
